How many times can you repurpose or reprint a series? However, this latest version is the best so far, and definitely worthier of the "ABSOLUTE" descriptor than the version released in 2005.
   The slipcased hardcover set upgrades DC's historic 1985 comic event into a premium collector's item. It stands out from regular paperbacks by using an oversized format (about 8 by 12 inches) that lets readers see the fine details of George Pérez's character-packed panels.
• Art remaster: Instead of using old printed copies, the pages were rebuilt by scanning the original art from artist Jerry Ordway and fans worldwide.
• Original coloring restored: The book fixes old printing mistakes and brings back the exact colors the artists originally intended, avoiding muddy or oversaturated hues.
• Bonus material: There is a second volume (around 240 pages) filled with rare behind-the-scenes content. This includes original memos, character design sketches, and scripts that show how DC completely reorganized its universe. The set includes HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE 1-2, and a fold-out section featuring Alex Ross's famous Crisis painting, which was finished and inked for the very first time, as well as Nicola Scott's original art for the Crisis Box Set. There's also a full-size reprint of the HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE foldout poster with an identification key.
