THE detailed 7" scale figure from McFarlane Toys is based on Ryan Sook's design for the character, and comes with three interchangeable heads, including dark and light skinned faces, somewhat validating the fact that DC (or writer Bendis) couldn't decide on what color to use initially. Lighting Lad's first appearance in this Legion series was as a caucasian, but he was race-swapped shortly after. There are up to 22 moving parts for full range of posing and play and four blue lightning effects. The box includes a collectible art card with character art on the front and character biography on the back.
   There is also a so-called Platinum Edition chase version, which depicts Lightning Lad's all white leggings, as created by Chris Batista, who subtly modified Cockrum's original design. This figure also comes with interchangeble heads and the lightning effects, which are yellow.
