LIBRO FESTIVAL DEL MUNDO DE LA HISTORIETA
(MEXICO, 1969)

Before the Marvel Value Stamps, there was … LIBRO FESTIVAL DEL MUNDO DE LA HISTORIETA (Cartoon World Festival Book), a collector album released by Mexican publisher Editorial Novaro (EN) in 1969.
EN specialized in translating American and European titles for the Spanish-speaking market from 1949 through 1985. They held the rights to translate and publish DC Comics, Dell Comics, Gold Key Comics, Archie Comics, and Harvey Comics. EN could be seen as a competitor to the Brazilian publishing company, Ebal, which also had rights to DC characters (but mainly used Portuguese text).
In 1969, EN included panels/stamps in various titles of the time, usually placed on the inside front or back covers. In total, there were 212 of these to cut out and paste in the album that could be purchased separately.
A section on the Superman family includes several members of the Legion.

Pictured above are the blank pages for the Legionnaires with allocated spaces for various stickers to be pasted. There is short explanatory text for each character.

The panels/stamps were inserted randomly throughout all the titles, so if you were lucky, you could find a page with Legionnaires, as shown above.

There was a full-page promotional ad for the album. Also shown is a typical EN comic which contained the stickers.
