SUPER POWERS POSTER

IN 1984, DC Comics
awarded the master toy license of their characters to Kenner Products,
with the line named the Super Powers Collection.
Once the figures were on the market, a
vigorous merchandising campaign took place, with both companies
striving for the Super Powers logo to become ubiquitous.
DC Comics produced three comic book mini-series featuring characters
from the toyline, one during each year of the toyline's existence.
To help promote the series, the DC Super
Stars Society poster was repurposed and rebranded with the Super
Powers logo: a strange choice given that the toys were only based
on a few of the heroes pictured.
Interestingly, Cosmic Boy was recolored
to match his costume of the time. Compare
this with the original.
